Acute Care Nurse Practitioner- Cardiology

Houston Cardiovascular Associates in Houston, TX

Houston Cardiovascular Associates is in search of a part time ACNP who will work closely with one of our   Interventional Cardiologists to treat hospital-based and clinic-based patients in Sugar Land, TX.    

About Houston Cardiovascular Associates:

Serving the community since 1963, HCVA is Houston’s largest group of private-practicing cardiovascular physicians, with two locations.   Our board-certified physicians specialize in general, interventional, structural cardiology as well as cardio-oncology and advanced heart failure and transplantation, peripheral vascular disease, electrophysiology and cardiothoracic surgery.

We offer comprehensive services including:

  • Disease prevention
  • Advanced diagnostics
  • Cardiac and pulmonary disease management
  • Exercise stress tests
  • electrocardiography
  • Nuclear imaging including SPECT and cardiac PET

Our physicians and APPs provide services in two clinics, our vein clinic as well as two area hospitals.  The full-time Acute Care Nurse Practitioner will work under the general supervision of the primary supervising physician, and all physician partners to deliver competent medical care to an age specific population including adults and geriatric patients.  ACNP will work independently and collaborate with the Interventional Cardiologist as well as assess, manage and treat complex cardiovascular conditions in high acuity units. Position to maintain the scope of practice to be consistent with the policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines governed by the Texas Board of Nursing, the Texas Medical Board, and any other federal or state regulatory agencies, as well as the policies and procedures of HCVA. Understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of HCVA and USHV.

Experience Requirements:

  • Seasoned ACNP with ability to treat complex cardiovascular conditions, valvular pathology and coronary artery disease is a plus
  • ACNP Board Certification
  • 2-3 years of Cardiology experience as an ACNP is preferred
  • This position is not suitable for a new graduate

Hours of Work:

  • Part time, 2 days per week
  • Majority will be in (one) hospital setting and some outpatient clinic as well.
