Job description

ATC West Healthcare is seeking a part-time Staff MD in Oncology to provide comprehensive, patient-centered cancer care in a collaborative outpatient setting. This opportunity offers the chance to work alongside a multidisciplinary oncology team, participate in clinical trials and quality initiatives, and serve a rural patient population across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts while maintaining strong work-life balance.

Dates / Schedule
  • Part-time permanent position
  • Approximately 24 hours per week
  • Outpatient oncology clinic setting
  • Not accepting:
    • Locum or locum-to-perm candidates
    • Visa candidates
    • Candidates commuting more than 1 hour
    • Candidates planning to work another concurrent position
Job Details / Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and stage various cancers through:
    • Clinical assessments
    • Imaging studies
    • Laboratory testing
  • Develop individualized oncology treatment plans utilizing:
    • Chemotherapy
    • Radiation therapy
    • Immunotherapy
    • Targeted therapies
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment protocols as needed
  • Manage treatment-related side effects and supportive care needs
  • Educate patients and families regarding:
    • Diagnoses
    • Treatment options
    • Expected outcomes
  • Provide emotional support and counseling throughout the cancer care journey
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology team members including:
    • Surgeons
    • Radiologists
    • Certified oncology nurses
    • Nurse practitioners
    • Oncology navigators
  • Participate in:
    • Clinical trials
    • Research initiatives
    • Quality improvement projects
    • Departmental planning and efficiency initiatives
  • Stay current with evidence-based oncology practices and treatment advancements
  • Mentor and support healthcare staff in oncology-related practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology required
  • Active Vermont medical license required prior to start
  • Clean malpractice and license history required
  • Most recent NPDB Self-Query report within 30 days required at presentation
  • Completion of accredited residency training in the United States or Canada required
  • Must not have previously applied directly to the position for agency eligibility
  • Permanent placement fee acknowledgment required during submission
