Overview responsibilities:
  • Plans activities in specialized area as well as evening programs and all camp activities, including activity documentation (including activity plans, evening program plans, rainy day plans and other).
  • Ensures that camp safety regulations for guests and fellow staff members are followed.
  • Regulates aquatic safety regulations for guests and fellow staff members, including providing lifeguard coverage of camp aquatic activities and training staff on pool rules and regulations
  • Conducts checks of aquatics areas and equipment for safety, cleanliness and good repair, including performing pool chemical checks and documentation
  • Facilitates engagement in camp activities by leading activities and assigning responsibilities to participants.
  • Maintains a resort like environment for persons served, other team members and visitors.
  • Inventories assigned activity areas at start and end of summer season.
  • Participates actively in all required camp trainings and meetings, facilitating specific training sessions/meetings when assigned.
  • Facilitates guest choice in activities by providing variety and information on available choices within activities.

Qualifications Required:
  • 18 years of age or older required.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Certified Lifeguard by ARC or similar governing body
  • Previous experience utilizing Pool chemicals, aquatic safety equipment and non-motorized watercrafts (i.e., canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, etc.)
