Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operates the Community bus/van to transport residents to scheduled appointments and outings
  • Assists residents on and off the vehicle, including operating the wheelchair lift as needed
  • Escorts residents into and out of appointments, ensuring safe arrival and pickup
  • Maintains a calm, professional demeanor while driving, supporting overall team performance and resident comfort
  • Maintains cleanliness of the bus or vehicle, both interior and exterior
  • Completes required forms and documentation for vehicle upkeep and maintenance tracking
  • Receives and tracks resident transportation requests and appointments
  • Coordinates multiple transportation requests per day, accommodating all requests in a reasonable and timely manner
  • Plans and organize routes to maximize efficiency
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with residents and staff regarding schedules and needs
  • Follows all policies and procedures related to the community transportation program and resident shopping trips
  • Intentionally builds relationships with each resident and their family to provide personalized, attentive service
  • Engages with residents in a genuine, compassionate, and memorable way

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Must hold valid driver's license
