Job description

Job Title: School Bus Driver
Location: Campus
Job Type: Part-Time; 1099 Contractor
Reports To: Transportation Coordinator / Head of School
Job Summary:
As a School Bus Driver, you will ensure the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities. You will partner with the Transportation Coordinator and school administration to maintain a safe, efficient, and positive environment for all students.

  • Exhibits a clear commitment to Christian Education and a wholehearted embrace of CSAGH's vision.
  • Reliable, patient, adaptable, and capable of building positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development training as needed.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends as required for field trips or special events.

Key Responsibilities:
1) Student Transportation:
  • Safely operate a school bus in compliance with all traffic laws, district policies, and CSAGH safety standards.
  • Pick up and drop off students according to assigned routes and schedules.
  • Ensure proper loading, unloading, and supervision of students.
  • Maintain order and discipline on the bus in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report any maintenance issues.

2) Administrative & Communication Support:
  • Maintain accurate records of routes, students, and incidents.
  • Communicate promptly with parents, school staff, and administration regarding delays, concerns, or safety issues.
  • Assist with transportation-related communication, such as weather alerts or schedule changes.

3) Other Duties:
  • Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned by the Transportation Coordinator or Head of School.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements (or ability to obtain).
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass background checks
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working with children is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development training as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
  • Ability to assist students in boarding/exiting the bus, including lifting and bending when necessary.
  • Operate bus controls, safety equipment, and other related machinery.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
