- Weekdays and occasional weekends.
- Daytime and evening hours.
Job Requirements:
A Bus Driver is needed for the Park District's 39 passenger bus; primarily for senior day trips, but also for occasional summer camp field trips and special event shuttling. This position has varying hours; mainly on weekdays with minimal weekend shifts. The senior program has an average of two trips per week, year-round, but the driver will be scheduled on a substitute basis only. Applicant must be a safe and conscientious driver, good with directions, experienced with driving a large bus, familiar with the greater Chicago/suburban area, comfortable with driving in downtown Chicago as well as out of state, have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and have a flexible schedule with availability during the day time year-round.
Qualifications:
- Previous bus driving experience is preferred.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
- Clean driving record.
- Must successfully pass a DOT pre-employment physical & drug/alcohol screening (at Park District's expense).
- Must successfully pass a background check.
