Job description

We have part time positions available. The Host/Hostess position pays $12.00/hour.
We have 6 restaurants: The National Tavern, Eighty8 Kitchen + Cocktails, The Landing Restaurant, Creek Club, The Overlook at Great Waters, & Richland Pointe. All restaurants are located in the Greensboro, GA area, approximately 45 minutes from Milledgeville and 1 hour from Athens.
Responsibilities:
  • Answers the phone at the hostess stand, transfers calls, takes reservations, receives and delivers messages to management.
  • Able to answer questions concerning menus, special events, banquets, and other guest amenities.
  • Organizes menus for each shift and ensures menus are clean, current and of sufficient par.
  • Distribute copies of special menu items to wait staff.
  • Greets guests in an upbeat, gracious and polite fashion. Adhere to the "ten foot rule" (acknowledge any member or guest within ten feet with an appropriate greeting.).
  • Distributes menus and wine lists to the guests and issues checks for food and beverage to each waiter.
  • Keeps an accurate count of customers seated and distributed to each server, by properly maintaining reservation sheets and seating charts.
  • Communicates special needs, VIPs, and special events to the servers to "exceed expectations".
  • Maintains correct appearance of hostess stand area, organized and clean.
  • Ensures light, music and thermostats are setting at appropriate levels during the course of the shift.
  • Observes the dining and lounge area for general guest satisfaction. Immediately relay any concerns to Manager.
  • Consults with supervisors as to the seating of guests and communication to the kitchen.
  • Reconciles end of shift paperwork.
  • Must be able to assist banquet with functions throughout all Reynolds properties.

Qualifications:
  • Must have strong verbal and organizational skills.
  • Must possess skills of diplomacy.
  • Must be able to stay calm in changing or stressful situations.
  • Pleasant speaking voice; neat appearance.
  • Restaurant experience desired.
  • Able to walk and stand through the duration of shift.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs.
