Job description

Job Title: Registered Nurse
Opportunity:
This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing company at the ground level. We are looking for a registered nurse who strives for excellent patient care and is comfortable in a fast paced environment. Responsibilities include providing professional nursing care for surgery center patients, following established standards and practices, meeting both the psychosocial and physical needs of the patient. Travel between multiple ambulatory surgery centers is required. This is a hands-on role for a growing organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepares the patient for surgery by assessing the patient's physical, psychologic, and social states, completing preoperative screening, and recording vital statistics of patients.
  • Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct.
  • Oversees timely flow of patients throughout the surgery center.
  • Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about the procedure.
  • Maintains surgery center for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed.
  • Identifies physical symptoms and changes and takes appropriate action in a timely manner.
  • Provides excellent patient care and makes knowledge-based decisions in emergency situations
  • Carries out medical and surgical asepsis during patient care.
  • Performs safe and individualized nursing care for the patient in the immediate postoperative/postanesthesia period.
  • Answers patient and family questions, ensures patient's comfort, and reassures the patient throughout the process.
  • Monitors patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physicians.
  • Performs work related tasks and projects as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Candidate Qualities & Qualifications:
  • Registered nursing license in the state of Georgia required.
  • Current BLS certification is required.
  • Current ACLS certification is encouraged, but not required.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide age-specific care.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and adaptability.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.

Supervision Received:
Reports to ASC Executive Director.
Typical Physical Demands:
Requires frequent standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time. Requires some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity necessary for the operation of basic office equipment. Requires visual acuity and hearing in normal range. Requires the ability to work efficiently under high stress with patients who can be irritable or confused.
Typical Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent telephone contact with patients and other medical staff. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
