How you'll contribute
A Behavioral Health Tech who excels in this role:
  • Will assist in meeting the needs of behavioral health patients.
  • Maintain constant direct observation and visualization of identified patient(s).
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Position Summary:
As a Behavioral Health Technician, under the supervision of nursing staff, will provide direct patient care and assist with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
  • Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Observes and records patient behavior and activities.
  • Reports any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
  • Provides crisis intervention with incoming calls and on the unit to maintain safety.

Minimum Requirements
Required Skills:
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Education:
  • Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Required Certifications/Licenses:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 45 days of hire.
  • Handle with Care (HWC) within 45 days of hire.
  • CNA licenses preferred.

Required Work Experience:
  • Behavioral Health experience preferred.
