Position Information
Position Title Hitting Baseball Coach PIN 689300 Classification Summary
Incumbents assist with planning and directing the activities of an athletic team, or provide coaching services as an assistant to a head coach, and may coordinate administrative functions in support of athletic programs. Responsibilities may include scheduling, planning, and implementing practices; monitoring a budget; recruiting student athletes; monitoring compliance with rules and regulations; coordinating the use of facilities and equipment; maintaining records of activities; and preparing operational reports.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree and experience in playing or coaching the sport at the collegiate level required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a member of a team within the athletic department are required.

These are the job duties that are required of the position.
Classification Duties
  1. In conjunction with the Head and First Assistant Coaches, implement specific sporting strategies to improve individual and/or team performance. Provide individual and/or group instruction on proper techniques, mechanics, and approaches specific to an area. Monitor and adjust training plans as needed based on player progress and team needs. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices and apply them to coaching strategies. (B2)
  2. Lead practice sessions and drills to enhance skills. (B2)
  3. Analyze player performance data to identify areas of improvement and develop individualized training plans. Provide ongoing feedback and guidance to players to help them reach their full potential. (B2)
  4. Supervise team activities. This includes, but is not limited to, attendance at home contests of the College's other sports programs and campus and community events. Prepare sporting equipment for practices and games by ensuring equipment is properly handled and maintained at all times. (B2)
  5. Conduct him/herself in a professional manner and be a positive role model for the student-athletes with whom they interact on a daily basis (A1)
  6. Perform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.
