Job description

Mercantile Bank is seeking an organized, timely, and service-oriented Part-Time Courier to join our in Kalamazoo area team.

Courier Stops: Portage, Kalamazoo, Paw Paw, Wyoming, and Holland

Schedule: 8:45 to 1:00pm Monday through Friday working one week on and one week off.

A Look into Your Day

A Part-Time Courier at Mercantile Bank plays an important role in supporting customers and branch operations by ensuring the secure, accurate, and timely transportation of documents, checks, and other banking-related items. This position is responsible for picking up and delivering items to customers across multiple regions, as well as transporting materials between Mercantile Bank branch locations. Couriers are expected to operate in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, bank policies, and procedures while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The role also requires the completion of all required training and the flexibility to perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support the Bank's evolving business needs.

What We Are looking For:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. when necessary.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle as this position may require use of your person vehicle if bank vehicle is not available. Mileage is reimbursed.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in all weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to ensure individuals with disabilities can perform the essential functions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
