Job description

Are you a passionate dance instructor who loves working with children? Ensemble Schools is looking for experienced BALLET teachers to join our teaching team at Evolve Dance Company. Our growing studio in Rockford, IL, focuses on providing quality instruction in a safe environment. We're seeking instructors who can deliver engaging, in-person lessons and contribute to the vibrant dance community. Our positive classrooms are staffed by amazing teachers who go beyond teaching dance technique to developing important life skills in students because Evolve is about More Than Just Great Dancing!ยฎ
Our current schedule for this role is
Tuesdays:
5:00-6:30 - Intermediate 2 Ballet
6:30-8:00 - Advanced Ballet
8:00-9:00 - Intermediate 1 Ballet
This schedule will continue through June, then there will be opportunity to reformat the schedule and/or add more hours for the 2026-2027 season.

Responsibilities:
  • Instruct group classes in teaching ballet technique at varying levels.
  • Have and utilize solid foundation in ballet.
  • Choreograph dances for students of varying levels.
  • Showcase a strong background in dance through educational, teaching, and/or performing experience.
  • Demonstrate a genuine love for teaching and experience working with young dancers.
  • Provide reliable transportation and pass a routine background check.
  • Exhibit traits of dependability, professionalism, enthusiasm, punctuality, and friendliness.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Enthusiastic and vibrant personality for engaging young dancers.
  • Post-secondary dance training experience such as a certificate or degree in dance performance, education, or related fields (not mandatory but a plus).

Evolve Dance Company started as a dream of Artistic Director, Jenny Vause, and became a reality in June of 2005. Since opening, Evolve continues to provide quality instruction to dancers in Rockford and the surrounding areas.
