Job description

Description:

Ball Horticultural Company is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused candidate to join our Seed Processing Center as a Distribution Seed Handler. Ball is the world's largest breeder, producer, and distributor of flower seed, providing outstanding products, best-in-class customer service, and reliable supply to professional growers around the globe. In this role, you will support the accurate distribution of seed by packaging, verifying, storing, and maintaining inventory while ensuring quality standards, inventory accuracy, and timely order fulfillment.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pull/Package/Verify/Seal seed packages
  • Operate packaging machines
  • Operate package sealing machines
  • Count inventory
  • Put away inventory
  • Maintain inventory
  • Retrieve seed from refrigerated vault and seed warehouse
  • Replenish packaging supplies
  • Use SAP and other system tools for inquiries and to manage materials
  • Assist with physical inventory
  • Perform quality checks
  • Lifting / bending / stooping – see seed job description for specifics
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • High School graduate or equivalent (G.E.D.) required.
  • Basic Math skills needed: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
  • Ability to work overtime on short notice
  • Ability to operate mechanical equipment, as this may be required in some areas
  • Must work well as part of a team


Pay Range: $16-$18/hour


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/carry 40+ pounds
  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time (8 hours or more);
  • Physical mobility to reach, bend and stoop
  • For some roles, must have the ability to work in cold vault (40 degrees)
  • Have good range of motion with extremities – requires repetitive work
