This rewarding position offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of preschool-aged children with autism by supporting their growth in a structured, nurturing learning environment. Earning $17.50–$22.17/hour, you'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping children build communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills through evidence-based practices. As part of a program that has served Utah County families for nearly three decades, you'll play an important role in helping young learners reach meaningful milestones while providing compassionate support to both children and their families.
Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 AM–3:30 PM
Compensation: $17.50–$22.17 DOE

What You'll Do as an Autism Aid
- Support preschool-aged children with autism in classroom activities and daily routines.
- Work one-on-one and in small groups to reinforce individualized treatment and learning goals.
- Assist teachers and clinicians in implementing evidence-based interventions, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques.
- Encourage the development of communication, social, behavioral, and self-help skills.
- Help children navigate structured routines while supporting successful transitions throughout the day.
- Utilize visual supports, picture schedules, communication systems, and other therapeutic strategies.
- Model positive behaviors and provide encouragement to promote confidence and independence.
- Observe and document children's progress and communicate observations with the treatment team.
- Foster a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where every child has opportunities to succeed.
- Collaborate with therapists, educators, and families to provide consistent, individualized care.
- Assist with classroom setup, organization, and preparation of learning materials.
- Celebrate each child's achievements while helping them build the skills needed for lifelong success.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Patience, empathy, and professionalism when working with young children
- Ability to follow established guidelines and adapt to changing needs
- Experience with children or individuals with special needs preferred
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check.
