Role Description
The Equipment Detailer is responsible for cleaning, prepping, and maintaining equipment to ensure each unit is ready for auction. This role includes operating detailing tools and machinery, applying protective treatments, and assisting with equipment staging and movement on the lot. The Equipment Detailer works closely with the yard crew and auction staff to keep operations running efficiently and safely.
Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities
  • Clean and detail equipment in preparation for auction sales.
  • Operate buffers, steamers, hoses, vacuums, and other detailing tools and equipment.
  • Apply cleaning, protective, and restorative products to enhance the appearance of machinery.
  • Safely move, park, and stage equipment as needed.
  • Maintain an organized workspace and manage inventory of detailing supplies, including reordering when necessary.
  • Assist the yard crew in locating and preparing equipment for customer pickup as required.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors, adapting to changing weather and job demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational amp; Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established cleaning and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the yard and auction teams.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in equipment, vehicle, or machinery detailing.
  • Familiarity with cleaning tools, buffers, pressure washers, or other mechanical equipment.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge or equipment handling experience a plus.
Essential Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, drive, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
Note: This position is considered safety sensitive and involves regular outdoor work and may require standing for long periods, bending, and operating equipment.
