Direct Support Professional (DSP) – In-Home & Community Support (Urgent Need, 1:1 & 2:1)

Pay: Starting at $24.00/hour
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Work Location: In the client’s home and in the community (on the road) La Pine, OR

We are currently hiring kind, reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for an urgent staffing need supporting an individual with increased medical and behavioral support needs. This role includes 1:1 and 2:1 support, and we are looking to hire up to four (4) staff members to stabilize coverage. Even one qualified hire will make an immediate, meaningful impact.

Position Details (Schedule & Hours)
  • 1:1 and 2:1 support (based on needs, setting, and activity)

  • Supports provided in the client’s home and the community

  • Approximately 40 hours per week (full-time availability preferred; part-time also available)

  • Four (4) ten-hour shifts (target structure)

  • Typical hours: 10:00 or 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM

  • Therapy days: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM

  • Some flexibility is available, though consistency is important for continuity of care

  • Overtime may be available depending on needs and availability


What You’ll Do
  • Provide hands-on personal care, including lifting, transfers, and physical assistance

  • Support daily routines, including personal care, mealtime support, and mobility

  • Support medical and behavioral needs with a focus on safety, responsiveness, and follow-through

  • Provide constant supervision and consistent monitoring during assigned shifts

  • Deliver palliative-focused support, prioritizing comfort, dignity, safety, and quality of life

  • Assist with community activities, outings, and appointments aligned with the individual’s interests and needs

  • Encourage skill-building, goal progress, and positive engagement

  • Follow individualized support plans, safety plans, and care protocols

  • Document services provided using progress notes and other required documentation methods

  • Communicate respectfully with individuals, families, and the T&T Cares team


Who We’re Looking For Basic Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age

  • Able to pass a State of Oregon background check

  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S.

  • No history of substantiated abuse or neglect

  • Reliable, respectful, and committed to supporting people in an inclusive environment

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Experience in direct care, home care, education, behavioral support, or related fields is helpful

  • Experience as a DSP, PSW, or caregiver is a plus (not required)

Physical Expectations
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and provide physical assistance safely

  • May assist with transfers and mobility support

  • Must be able to move, bend, and stand/walk during daily tasks and outings

Other Requirements
  • Access to a reliable mobile device (used for clocking in/out and documentation)

  • Reliable transportation

  • Valid driver’s license and insurance
