Mondays thru Fridays 2:00 PM to 6:15 PM 

Mondays thru Fridays 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM (Infants Classroom)


First Steps blends purposeful play with a structured curriculum to help a child discover the outside world, while cultivating strength of character within. Our safe environment, caring staff and award-winning program empower children to take First Steps to Bigger Things.


First Steps Academy is looking for professionals who are passionate about teaching and working with children and are excited about making a difference in their lives. Our Assistant Teachers exhibit enthusiasm, a caring attitude and a love of learning. Our Assistant Teachers support developmentally appropriate academic and values curricula in a loving and safe environment. Our Assistant Teachers assist in classroom management including supervision, transitions, cleaning and preparing supplies.

Requirements

We seek candidates who exhibit professionalism, pride in work, initiative, a strong work ethic and who support parents as partners in education. Other requirements include:

  • A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Experience working with children preferred.
  • Must be physically able to lift and carry a minimum of 45 pounds, engage in physical activity with children, and work indoors or outdoors.
  • Must be able to constantly move and interact with the children to provide stimulation and develop relationships.
  • Must be able to alternate often between sitting and standing.
  • Must be able to maintain sight and sound of the children at all times.
  • CPR and First Aid certified or willingness to obtain.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Pass pre-employment screenings and trainings as required.
