Part Time Asset Management information

What is part time asset management?

Part time asset management involves overseeing and optimizing a client’s investments, properties, or financial portfolios on a reduced-hour or flexible schedule. This role is ideal for professionals who may have other commitments or are seeking work-life balance. Part time asset managers typically analyze assets, monitor performance, and make recommendations to maximize value, just like their full-time counterparts, but work fewer hours per week. Responsibilities may vary depending on the employer and the types of assets managed. The position may also offer remote work or flexible scheduling options.

What are typical responsibilities for someone in part time asset management?

In a part-time asset management position, you can expect to assist with tracking and updating asset records, supporting inventory audits, and helping with data entry related to financial or physical assets. You'll often collaborate with full-time asset managers, finance teams, and IT personnel to ensure assets are properly documented and managed. While the hours are flexible, organization and attention to detail are key, and you may be assigned periodic reporting tasks or project-based work depending on your employer's needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time asset management professional, and why are they important?

To thrive in Part Time Asset Management, you need a solid understanding of financial analysis, portfolio management, and investment principles, often supported by a degree in finance or a related field. Familiarity with asset management software, financial modeling tools, and potentially certifications like CFA Level I are commonly expected. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help professionals interpret data and advise clients confidently. These skills ensure accurate asset evaluations, sound investment decisions, and client trust, even within a part-time schedule.

The ideal candidate is outgoing, personable, and self-motivated, with excellent communication skills and a passion for customer engagement and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community partners to generate leasing referrals.
  • Distribute marketing materials, promotional items, and leasing information throughout assigned markets.

  • Represent AAM Living professionally at networking events, housing fairs, and local community activities.
  • Support leasing teams by generating qualified traffic through outreach and marketing efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, contacts, and marketing initiatives.
  • Assist in identifying new outreach opportunities and partnership programs.
  • Collaborate with Community Managers and Leasing teams to support occupancy goals.
  • Monitor competitor marketing activities and provide market feedback when requested.
  • Ensure marketing materials remain current, organized, and professionally presented.
  • Support additional marketing and administrative projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in customer service, marketing, leasing, hospitality, retail, or community outreach preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with businesses, community members, and prospective residents.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry marketing materials and event supplies when required.

Benefits

  • Flexible part-time schedule.
  • Opportunity to gain experience in multifamily property management and marketing.
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Potential for future employment opportunities based on business needs.
