Assembly Technician 6041 Guion Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46254 IN500 Part-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm
Up to 28 hours/week OVERVIEW: Working as Part-time Assembly Technician, you will work in our FMI (Fastenal Managed Inventory) Technology Service Center, performing various operational and administrative activities. You will assemble, recondition and test components and devices associated with our industrial vending, bin systems and other FMI technology devices. You will be responsible for printing, inspecting, applying and scanning labels and assisting with ordering, stocking, picking and shipping inventory. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Assembling, cleaning, reconditioning and testing components and devices using work instructions o Preparing devices for shipment to the customer o Disassembling devices and placing parts in their appropriate locations o Printing, inspecting, adhering and scanning labels o Packaging and shipping completed products o Assisting with ordering, stocking, maintaining and picking inventory o Maintaining quality and efficiencies while providing for continual departmental improvements o Communicating with the department manager and Fastenal team members o Maintaining a clean and safe work environment o Complying with safety regulations REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Proficient computer skills o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Mechanically inclined ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
