Job description

Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Branch Manager, this part-time, non-exempt hourly role assists members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments. The Member Service Representative/Teller offers financial solutions to member concerns and uses problem solving to meet memberโ€™s needs. To assist in connecting members with the correct channel of services including, but not limited to, member development officers and back office services.ย 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

1.ย ย ย  Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells money orders and travelers checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed.

2.ย ย ย  Cash checks and pay money from savings and checking accounts upon verification of signatures and/or member identification.ย  Inspect all checks, bonds, money orders, etc. to determine their negotiability.

3.ย ย ย  Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input and answering the telephone.

4.ย ย ย  Welcome members and provide routine information concerning services and connect members with Banking or Loan Officers who can further assist.ย 

5.ย ย ย  Balance cash drawer and perform daily transactions.

6.ย ย ย  Practice confidentiality where indicated in employee matters and credit union operations.

7.ย ย ย  Cooperate and work together as a team with coworkers, maintain a neat work area, and perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Certifications
