Job description

Tokyo Anime Center is committed to bringing Japanese Pop Culture to the US offering a fun and exciting experience for both locals and tourists. We pride ourselves on creating an engaging atmosphere where our guests can enjoy Gashapon machines and Anime photo experiences. We are looking for part-time employees to help our guests enjoy the store during the holiday season!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Welcome and engage with customers as they enter the store

• Work with cash registers and processing payments

• Give customers advice about sales and promotions

• Maintain a clean and organized store environment

• Open and close the store as needed

• Learn how to operate all Gashapon machines

• Restock and maintain Gashapon machines to ensure they’re in optimal working condition

Qualifications:

• Enthusiasm for Japanese POP culture

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to guest satisfaction

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Desire to gain comprehensive understanding of the store products

• Technical ability to execute simple repairs when needed

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers, staff and management

• Excellent customer service skills

• Organizational and time management skills

• Strong basic math skills

Education & Experience:

• Retail experience preferred, but not required

• High energy with a passion for customer service

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong cash handling skills

• High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:

• Walking and/or standing for long periods of time

• Lifting to 25 pounds

• Bending, stooping and kneeling

• Pushing and pulling
