Shift Leader, Roti

About Rōti:

Rōti (row- tee) is feeding a healthier world with bold, craveable flavor through its fast casual Eastern Mediterranean inspired menu; featuring unique spices once found on history’s great spice trade routes. The brand, founded in 2006, features a broad menu of whole, healthy ingredients that are centered around fresh house-made meats, rice, crisp vegetables, and a variety of flavor-forward sauces and dressings. Guests customize their meals in the style of bowls, salads, or pitas. Rōti continues to grow with its commitment to making wholesome, healthy food accessible and deeply satisfying and creating Food For a Full Life.

Job Summary:

As a Shift Leader, you are the driving force behind a smooth and successful shift, ensuring everything runs seamlessly in the absence of the General Manager. Acting as a key leader on the team, you set the tone for exceptional service, uphold operational standards, and create a positive, high-energy work environment.

In this role, you’ll lead by example—motivating and supporting your team, recognizing strengths, and fostering strong working relationships. You’ll be the bridge between team members and management, helping to maintain clear communication and ensuring every shift operates with efficiency and excellence. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting, love coaching and developing others, and are passionate about great hospitality, we’d love to have you on our team!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Inspire: Set the standard for excellence by leading with confidence, motivating the team, and fostering a positive, high-energy work environment.
  • Be a Hands-On Leader: Stay present on the floor, actively managing and supporting team members while ensuring smooth shift execution.
  • Train & Develop: Coach and mentor new and existing employees, creating a culture of continuous learning and team growth.
  • Deliver an Unforgettable Guest Experience: Ensure every guest feels welcome, providing outstanding hospitality and handling customer concerns with care.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Open and close the restaurant at least twice per week, oversee daily operations, and ensure service, cleanliness, and food quality standards are met.
  • Ensure Food Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and local health regulations while ensuring proper equipment maintenance.
  • Be a Rōti Ambassador: Represent the brand inside and outside the restaurant, embodying our mission and values with enthusiasm.
  • Foster a Team-First Mindset: Build strong working relationships, delegate tasks effectively, and support a culture where collective success drives individual growth.
  • Stay Adaptable & Solution-Oriented: Jump in wherever needed to support the team and keep the restaurant running smoothly.
  • Take Ownership: Uphold all company policies, including labor, health, and safety regulations, while proactively identifying areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Manager State Food Safety and Allergen Certification is required (or must be obtained upon hire).
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Open availability is required, including opening and closing shifts; experience with cash handling and closing procedures is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of menu, recipes, and ingredients, with the ability to train others on every station.
  • Previous restaurant leadership experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and take quick action.
  • Confident and assertive leadership skills to effectively communicate responsibilities and guide the team.
  • Passionate about hospitality and service—creating an amazing guest experience is a top priority.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to upholding Rōti’s values and culture.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while keeping the team motivated and engaged.
