Start Date: ASAP

Requirements:
  • Maintain a smoke-free environment
  • Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided for work-related errands, or family car available if needed)

  • Comfort with dogs and cats

About Our Family:

We are a warm, busy, and down-to-earth family of four living in Newton with our two young daughters, a friendly 60-pound lab, and a cat. We have full schedules, lots of moving pieces, and two parents with demanding full-time careers, so creating a home environment that feels calm, organized, and supportive for everyone is incredibly important to us.

Our daughters are increasingly independent, which means our needs have evolved and we are now looking for someone who can step in as a true household partner. The role is less about constant hands-on childcare and more about helping the home run smoothly behind the scenes: keeping things organized, staying ahead of laundry and household resets, grocery shopping, helping with school pickups and activity drop-offs, so we have more space to focus on family time and the rhythm of everyday life.

We have a collaborative communication style and are clear about our needs, while also appreciating open and proactive communication in return. Our ideal team member is someone who can take initiative, stay ahead of the game, and help us maintain order, whether it is in the kitchen, around the kids' activities, or throughout the house.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For:

You are someone who genuinely enjoys helping a busy household stay organized, functional, and running smoothly. You are comfortable managing tasks such as laundry, household organization, grocery shopping, school pickups and activity drop-offs, lunch preparation, and light meal prep.

We already have weekly cleaners and summer childcare support in place, so this role is designed to complement those systems and provide thoughtful day-to-day household support where we need it most. You are that thoughtful person; you enjoy creating calm, helping families stay organized, and want to become a trusted, long-term part of our household rhythm.

You are highly organized, tidy, detail-oriented, and proactive. You notice what needs attention without waiting to be asked and take pride in creating systems, maintaining order, and helping a household run smoothly. You are self-directed and confident in your abilities, able to work independently without requiring close micromanagement while still being coachable, teachable, and open to feedback. You bring positive, warm energy to the role, along with professionalism, accountability, and good judgment.

You genuinely enjoy being around children and can build natural rapport with them while maintaining appropriate boundaries and structure. Your discernment and ability to read the room make you a strong fit for a family environment. Reliability, trustworthiness, responsibility, and consistency are all qualities you bring to your work, and you take pride in being a steady, helpful presence in the home.
