Job Title: Household Manager with Meal Prep Support

Location: Waverly, VA 23890

Employment Type: Part-time (25-30 hours/week, 25 hours guaranteed)

Schedule:

  • 3 days/week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Monday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • Approx. 6-8 hours/day
  • Occasional overnights for pet care when the family travels

Compensation: $2830/hour based on experience

About Our Family:

We are a lively and busy family that values maintaining an organized and welcoming home. With four kidstwo older children (one in college and one graduating high school) and two younger kids (ages 14 and 16) who are with us every other weekwe're constantly juggling schedules, activities, and projects. Both parents work from home, so it's important for us to keep things running smoothly. We're looking for someone who can help with meal prep, ensuring we have healthy meals and snacks ready to go, and with family laundry, so everything stays neat and organized. Keeping the home tidy and organized is a top priority, as well as supporting us when we entertain or host events. Above all, we want to focus more on being present with each other as a family, and we need someone who will help make that possible by taking care of the day-to-day tasks. We also have an energetic puppy who adds a lot of joy to our home, and we're excited to find someone who will be a reliable and caring presence in our household.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Household Organization & Maintenance
    • Create and maintain household organization systems (fridge, pantry, etc.)
    • Daily resets and preparing the home for cleaners
    • Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
    • Seasonal clothing swaps for kids
    • Manage box breakdowns and returns
    • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
    • Event/holiday/guest prep
    • Packing/unpacking for travel
    • Indoor and outdoor plant care
    • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc.
  • Meal Planning & Prep
    • Prepare 3-5 family dinners per week, including batch-prep (chop, marinate proteins, and prepare vegetables)
    • Batch prep breakfast and healthy snacks for the week (e.g., yogurt parfaits)
    • Ensure meals follow dietary restrictions (gluten-free, lactose-free)
    • Grocery shopping online or in-person, as needed
    • Kitchen cleanup and maintenance
  • Laundry & Linen Care
    • Wash, fold, and organize family laundry
    • Occasional ironing/steaming and special garment care (e.g., cashmere)
