Job description

Are you passionate about revolutionizing how customers experience home services through innovative technology solutions? Amazon's Home Services team is seeking a Sr. Solutions Architect to drive the technical onboarding of new selling partners and transform their journey from account creation to live operations. You will combine your knowledge of system integration architecture, AWS services, and programming languages like Java and Python to architect and deliver scalable solutions that remove friction and accelerate business growth.
In this role, you will serve as the technical bridge between complex selling partner requirements and our platform capabilities, working directly with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced, sales-driven environment. Your analytical mindset and customer-focused approach will be essential as you navigate ambiguous challenges, translate business needs into technical solutions, and continuously identify opportunities to enhance our services and scale operations. You must be an effective communicator, a strong collaborator across a broad spectrum of internal and external stakeholders, and able to lead a diverse and decentralized team of professionals.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and architect end-to-end technical solutions for complex selling partner onboarding requirements, ensuring scalability, security, and operational excellence across diverse integration scenarios
- Lead technical discovery sessions with new service providers to understand their systems architecture, define solution requirements, and create comprehensive process alignment strategies that accelerate time-to-market
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business development teams to translate customer feedback into clear technical requirements and influence product roadmap decisions
- Drive API integration development and testing processes, providing technical guidance on best practices for system connectivity, data flow optimization, and quality assurance protocols
- Build and maintain technical thought leadership through documentation, reference architectures, and enablement materials that can be leveraged across the broader Solutions Architecture community
- Build and implement automation solutions leveraging generative AI tools to streamline the onboarding process from account creation to live operations, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency
A day in the life
As a Solutions Architect III on the Home Services team, you'll start your day reviewing technical requirements for new seller integrations, analyzing their existing systems and designing optimal API integration strategies. You'll spend time conducting technical discovery sessions with prospective partners, walking them through solution architectures and addressing complex integration challenges. Throughout the day, you'll collaborate with internal engineering teams to refine automation tools, participate in QA testing for upcoming launches, and develop generative AI solutions that streamline repetitive onboarding tasks.

Our team's vision centers on leveraging innovative technologies, including generative AI, to create seamless experiences for both service providers and customers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 8+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or 8+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- Knowledge of databases (querying and analyzing) such as SQL, MYSQL, and ETL Manager and working with large data sets
- Experience communicating with customers, technical, regulatory, business teams, and management to collect requirements, describe product features, and technical designs
- Familiarity with ANSI X12 standards including Order and Financial series documents (e.g., 850, 855, 856, 810).
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing API integrations (REST, SOAP, GraphQL, event-driven architectures)
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python, with the ability to write production-quality code
- Experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of experience as a solutions architect, integrations architect or equivalent focused on eCommerce, Logistics, Last Mile or other relevant domains.
- Middleware business process workflow design and development experience.
- Track record of reducing partner onboarding time or integration complexity through technical innovation
- Strong writing skills with the ability to create technical documentation, integration guides, and architectural decision records
