Job description

SEASONAL DEICER AGENT - JFK AIRPORT (JFK Airport, Jamaica Queens 11430)
Starting Pay: $21.25/hr. (Part-Time)


JOB DUTIES:

  • Inspect aircraft for ice and frost on critical surfaces
  • Apply Type I and Type IV deicing fluids to aircraft wings, fuselage, and tail sections
  • Operate and maneuver deicing equipment and vehicles around aircraft in accordance with safety procedures
  • Record deicing fluid usage and related operational information accurately
  • Communicate with dispatchers and team members using radios and headsets
  • Conduct daily quality control inspections of equipment and vehicles
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures and operational standards
  • Support aircraft deicing operations to help maintain safe and efficient flight schedules
  • Maintain regular attendance and reliability in assigned shifts
  • Provide professional customer service and teamwork support
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to read, access, and interpret printed and electronic information
  • Proficiency using electronic devices such as tablets, computers, and mobile devices
  • Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers and customers in person and electronically
  • Ability to obtain required airport, aviation, and operational credentials as applicable
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to safely perform duties in a fast-paced airport environment
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, and grasp as needed
  • Ability to work at elevated heights
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to bend, stretch, squat, kneel, crawl, and crouch
  • Ability to work in environments with moderate to high noise levels
  • Ability to hear and respond to verbal communication and audible alarms
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements involving the arms, wrists, hands, and fingers
