Job description

Manage all aspects of Art Lords' public mural project at Middlebury College in Spring 2026. This position will require 3 hours per week.

This is considered a part-time, hourly, non-benefits eligible position. The minimum starting rate for the position is $21.27 per hour.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Arrange for logistics, including but not limited to space permits at Proctor; hours for community participation; accommodations for artists; community meals during artist's week-long residency. 
  • Serve as primary liaison between artists and across Middlebury College, including but not limited to Humanities House Migration Fellows, History of Art & Architecture, Middlebury College Museum of Art, International and Global Studies, Innovation Hub, and various student groups and organizations 
  • Outreach and publicity 
  • Documentation of event  
  • Deliver presentations across campus on the mural project, both in the weeks leading up to Art Lords' mini-week long residency at Middlebury and throughout the Spring semester. 
  •  Work with various departments and organizations across campus to share the story of the mural, including but not limited to Humanities House Interns, Alumni Office, and the Middlebury community.  

Requirements

  • Familiarity with context of Afghanistan, Art Lords, Middlebury College, and issues of migration 
  • B.A. In History of Art & Architecture 
  • Strong art historical background with experience in museum work 
  • Strong Organizational Skills 
  • Strong Skills in Writing and Public Presentations 
  • Strong Community Building Skills
