Job Description Summary
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
The College Credit Plus (CCP) Office supports high school students who are earning college credit while completing their secondary education. The office provides advising, admissions support, registration assistance, placement testing coordination, and ongoing student support for prospective and current CCP students, families, school counselors, and partner high schools. Our team is committed to providing exceptional customer service while helping students successfully navigate their college experience.
POSITION SUMMARY, ROUTINE TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The CCP Student Office Assistant will assist CCP office staff with daily operations and provide exceptional customer service for CCP students, families, and office visitors. This position provides students with opportunities to develop professional communication, customer service, organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills while supporting the mission of the College Credit Plus Office.
General duties and responsibilities include:
  • Providing coverage of the office area. Maintaining an organized, welcoming, and professional office environment.
  • Greeting students and other office visitors & being able to provide them with general information.
  • Answering, screening, and directing incoming phone calls and emails.
  • Assisting with appointment scheduling and maintaining office calendars.
  • Providing clerical support: data entry, updating advising & admissions data, assisting with scanning, shredding, and record keeping.
  • Assisting with typing correspondences, developing spreadsheets/databases, and document creation.
  • Operating office computer and office equipment and utilizing various software systems (Microsoft, Slate, J1, etc).
  • Assist with special projects and other duties assigned.
  • May occasionally conduct campus tours or accompany students to a specific location on campus.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  1. Ability to interact professionally with students, families, faculty, staff, and community members.
  2. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  3. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  4. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment.
  5. Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism.
  6. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately (FERPA awareness).

  • Previous customer service or office experience preferred but not required.

  • Registered full-time SSU student
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
  • Follow SSU dress code policy
