Job Summary: Transports, in a luxury vehicle, top executives, personnel, and visitors to and from destination(s) outlined in promotions. Drives shuttle bus, mini-bus, van, car, or lightweight truck to transport clients, trainees, company personnel or company products. The Shuttle/Chauffeur Driver has substantial contact with guests while transporting for promotional events and prizes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet all guests and Team Members in a friendly, open manner.
  • Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.
  • Maintains knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Drives vehicle from Odawa Casino Resort to assigned Hotels, Motels, Administration buildings, fueling center or other function areas and back to Casino.
  • Assists passengers to enter and leave vehicle; look after passengers' baggage if necessary; may assist passengers carry their baggage.
  • Drives passengers to and from pre-selected destination(s) back to casino or hotel as outlined in promotion.
  • Knows all emergency procedures; always ensures passenger safety.
  • Is aware of continual updates on changes in traffic laws and CDL requirements if transporting 16 passengers or more including the driver.
  • Operates vehicles safely and, in compliance with all motor vehicle laws and speed limits ensuring the safety of all passengers and utilization of Odawa Casino Resort standards of service.
  • Operates radios or similar devices to communicate with Casino and other company personnel.
  • Operates cell phone only when the vehicle is in park.
  • Responsible for vehicle presentation, keeping car cleaned, polished, and in appropriate operating condition.
  • Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
  • Performs routine safety check of vehicle at the beginning of each shift and ensures that vehicle is clean at all times, inside and out.
  • May make minor repairs.
  • Keeps records of vehicle condition, trips, fuel and passenger.
  • Adheres to regulatory, safety, departmental and company policies.
  • May be required to perform duties in other positions in transportation to cover call-ins and no-shows.
  • Attends all meetings as required.
  • Completes all required training satisfactorily.
  • Always maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Work at other properties as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Must have a valid Michigan Chauffeurs License or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement (P).
  • Must have an acceptable driving record and be insurable through our insurance carrier.
  • Must have knowledge of Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) regulations.
  • Must have a current, or be able to obtain, a DOT medical card and keep it up to date.
  • Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must have good knowledge of the local area and roads.
  • Must be able to make minor repairs including but not limited to replacing windshield wipers, bulbs, top off oil and windshield wiper fluid, etc.
  • Must have excellent verbal communication.
  • Must be able to work well and tactfully with both internal and external guests and have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Requires extended periods of sitting and other physical requirements associated with driving a shuttle
  • bus.
  • Must be able to work independently on a team with minimal supervision.
  • Must be flexible with shifts and days off with the ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, special events, etc., as needed.
  • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum
  • qualifications of the position.
  • Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke-filled environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
