We are currently considering candidates for a hospitality focused Activities Assistant. Candidates must have a desire to join a great team dedicated to providing outstanding and superior hospitality. We currently have the following shifts available: part-time.
The Activities Assistant at The Glenview at Pelican Bay is responsible for assisting with the overall planning and implementation of a varied activity program designed to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of Health Center residents.
The Activities Assistant is responsible for the following services including but not limited to:
  • Assists with planning, coordinating activities: current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, outside trips, special events, and one-to-one visits, as indicated.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary.
  • Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information.
  • Encourage residents to participate in hobbies and crafts. Provide materials as necessary.
  • Make routine visits to residents and perform assistance with crafts, projects, etc., as necessary.
  • Suggest activity changes or modifications to meet the specific needs and abilities of individual participants.
  • Ensure that all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and of the resident's response to the service.
  • Assists with preparing and distributing the monthly calendar and newsletter.

Skills/Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred. One year experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting preferred. Background in music, art, drama, and dance therapy preferred.
