The Accounting Intern will be responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical support to PKF O'Connor Davies Family Office Services members and clients. This includes but is not limited to assisting with bookkeeping, accounting, document management and special projects. The Accounting Intern must be able to work in a rapidly changing environment and provide a timely, high-quality, and accurate work product. The Accounting Intern should be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Essential Duties:
  • Record general ledger transactions (AP, AR, Cash Receipts and Disbursements).
  • Assist with cash management and bill payment.
  • Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations including bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in payroll and payroll taxes and 1099 processing.
  • Maintain department and client documents and client documents and files.
  • Assist with research and special projects (marketing, accounting, tax).
  • Complete applicable ad hoc assignments requested from the Family Office Group.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all client financial and employee files.

Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in accounting.
  • Must be able to work year-round on a part-time basis in our Harrison, NY office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational abilities.
  • Excellent computer skill with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work as a contributing member of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
  • Creative and persistent problem solver.
  • Ability to handle confidential material in a reliable manner.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $28.00 - $30.00/hour. Final offer amounts will be dependent upon office location as well as the individual's experience, skills, and qualifications.
