Part-Time Administrative Positions

The City of Alameda is looking for applicants interested in performing a variety of part-time, administrative assignments across various city departments. The administrative skill sets we are looking for varies as part-time positions become available. The most frequent part-time help we are looking for are in the following areas:

  • General clerical help involving reception and answering phones, data entry and typing, scheduling, Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access), filing, copying, and large scale document scanning and archiving projects
  • Bookkeeping, revenue and expenditure tracking, and basic accounting services
  • Basic research, data gathering, data analysis, and report writing
  • Grant writing and reporting
  • Programmatic support (specialized areas vary)
  • Event planning and coordination

SELECTION PROCESS: Applications are reviewed for a match in qualifications only if a part-time opening becomes available. If a hiring manager is interested in your application, you will be contacted for an interview. If no part-time openings are available or if your application is not a match for current opportunities, your application will remain on file for a period of 3 months.
