Stantec's New York City Transportation group has an opening for a VDC / BIM Designer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Transportation design. This position also involves being part of the team that leads the digital transformation of BC 1923 through information modeling.
This position is for a person with an education or background in Civil/Structural Engineering with a focus on VDC and/or BIM technologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven record as a team collaborator. Duties include BIM/VDC design and modelling, project coordination and implementing project BIM execution plans.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Design of Infrastructure Projects including clash detection, development of 3D models and development of design plans.
- Serve as BIM/VDC/CAD (or equivalent project specific nomenclature) Designer/Modeler on projects.
- Management and setup of design software configuration and workflows, including model setup family setup, family creation and model maintenance.
- Collaborate with team members across multiple disciplines.
- Coordinate with the Infrastructure Digital Practice team.
- Review projects to ensure quality and cohesion in accordance with firm or client standards.
- Maintain software template files to assure standards.
- Work under supervisor of BIM / VDC Manager.
- Successfully manage multiple priorities across multiple projects.
- Apply critical thinking skills to develop innovative solutions.
- Effectively organize, plan, prioritize, and manage time and competing priorities.
- Utilize Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to a variety of interactions with coworkers, clients, one's supervisor, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
- Develop new solutions to project challenges.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proven track record of successful project delivery; A/E design projects.
- Understanding of Transportation's systems design, layout, and coordination is preferred but not required.
- Advanced Knowledge of OpenBuildings.
- Knowledge of latest Autodesk and/or Bentley products including: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks Manage, InfraWorks, Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360, Microstation, OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Designer, ProjectWise.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor or Associate degree in engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in infrastructure design.
Pay Range:• Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP)-$82,700.00 - $119,800.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
