POSITION: PM Elementary Classroom Leaderโ€“ Redeemer East Side

DEPARTMENT: Childrenโ€™s Ministry

REPORTS TO: Childrenโ€™s Ministry Director

DATE: September 2026

HOURS WORKED: 3 hours on Sunday evening + 2 hours during the weekday

SALARY: $25/hr

FLSA: non-exempt

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Seeking a passionate and dedicated Childrenโ€™s Ministry Evening (PM) Elementary Classroom Leader to lead and nurture a vibrant, gospel-centered environment for elementary age children during our Sunday evening worship services. The ideal candidate will create a safe, engaging space where children in a muilti-age classroom can learn and grow in their faith. Responsibilities include facilitating fun and educational activities, providing physical care and supervision, and supporting gospel-based teaching.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available on Sunday evenings from 4:15 PM to 7:00 PM , plus 2 hr during the week for preparation.
  • Organizes and sets up classrooms to fit the needs of volunteers, staff and children each Sunday evening
  • Responsible for supervision of all elementary children.
  • Greets all children, families and visitors that are coming to class and transitions the children from adult worship to the classroom.
  • Orients volunteers for the evening and prays with them before children arrive.
  • Lead and facilitate the delivery of curriculum during class time.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions each year to review policies & procedures. This is to help build community so that as a staff we can continue to serve Redeemer East Side kids safely and effectively.
  • Give at least 2 weeks notice prior to being absent . If ill, please notify the Childrenโ€™s Ministry Director as soon as possible.
  • No more than 4 absences per year (excluding sick days) and no more than 3 absences in a row.
  • Must be able to work on Easter plus at least one Sunday during the winter holidays (around Christmas/New Year's).
  • Must Work on Lessons and Carols Sunday (typically the third Sunday in December).
  • Collects and maintains attendance sheets for accuracy and security and creates an attendance record for the day
  • Clean classroom space after class and returns all classroom supplies to their assigned containers.
  • Opportunity for additional hours as desired to assist with childrenโ€™s ministry large scale events.

  • Passionate to share the gospel with children and families.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for children & parents.
  • Gentle leadership skills.
  • Must be a team player and have character qualities such as integrity, wisdom and good judgment.
  • Warm and engaging personality.
  • Must pass Redeemer background check.
  • Experience in curriculum implementation.
