Schedule
  • Full-Time

  • Primarily afternoon and evening shifts

  • Typical hours: 11:00 AM โ€“ 7:30 PM

  • Every other weekend required

  • Holiday rotation as needed

A Day in the Life

As a Cook in our Health Care Center, you will:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and resident dietary requirements

  • Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and presented according to Larksfield Place standards

  • Assist with meal service for residents in skilled nursing and healthcare settings

  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations

  • Monitor food quality, temperatures, and storage procedures

  • Assist with food preparation, inventory rotation, and kitchen organization

  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, and service areas

  • Communicate effectively with dietary team members regarding resident needs and menu execution

  • Support a positive dining experience for residents through consistency and attention to detail

  • Follow infection control, allergen awareness, and cross-contamination prevention procedures

Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years of professional cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, senior living, or similar food service environment

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical kitchen duties throughout the shift

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must pass a TB screening

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Kansas Food Handler's Card required

  • ServSafe Certification preferred
