Maintenance Seasonal – Grounds Maintenance Varies | Parks & Recreation | Start 8:30 A.M.

Do you enjoy working outdoors, keeping parks safe and attractive, and taking pride in hands-on maintenance work? We're looking for motivated, reliable team members who love being active and helping the community shine.

What You'll Do

Support the care and upkeep of park grounds and athletic fields, including litter removal, turf maintenance, and assisting maintenance crews. Help keep Fort Wayne's parks safe, clean, and welcoming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain turf, ball diamonds, athletic fields, and remove weeds, limbs, and debris
  • Assist various grounds crews and perform cleaning tasks in park facilities
  • Operate and maintain equipment safely, including one-ton or small utility trucks
  • Track and maintain work reports and records accurately
  • Use chemicals and cleaning products safely while following City safety policies

What You Bring – Education & Experience

  • At least 18 years old with three years of high school completed
  • Any combination of grounds or maintenance experience
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to follow instructions

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Basic use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions
