POSITION SUMMARY/CLASS DESCRIPTION
SCOREKEEPER
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
This is a seasonal position with applications reviewed on a continuous basis depending on needs of each season. The role involves recording a running score and time either manually or electronically for various sports leagues and tournaments.
DUTIES:
- Keep a recorded book of the running score, fouls and time-outs for various leagues/tournaments in accordance with sport/program rules.
- Provide on-site operational support for leagues/tournaments. Manage emergencies and safety measures beyond the scope of team managers in accordance with the policies and procedures manual.
- Handle any situations on-site that may arise such as protests, official no-shows, rule questions, inclement weather, emergencies, incidents, etc.
- Ability to understand and interpret sport specific rules and County procedures.
- Deliver recorded book to the coordinator in a timely manner.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Knowledge of current rules of the sport and the ability to interpret them.
- Ability to deal with sometimes difficult individuals
- Ability to understand and interpret specific tournament rules and County procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience working as a scorekeeper preferred.
- Two (2) years knowledge of the rules of the specific sport.

RATE OF PAY: Salary commensurate with education and experience.
Contingent - Paraprofessional - Minimum Wage to $17.00 per hour
Contingent - Professional - $17.00-$20.00 per hour
