Job description

Under general supervision, this position provides valet and facility support services to patients and visitors of Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) to ensure exceptional service in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. Responsibilities include the intake, parking, and retrieval of vehicles in a safe and organized manner, as well as performing various garage and facility support functions such as customer service, cashiering, preparing bank deposits, handling cash, operating and maintaining revenue control equipment, completing reports, and opening and closing booths.
Education
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

Experience
  • One year working experience, one year of driving experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Professional character with all patients, visitors, and staff
  • Must be able to perform basic math and understanding of rates applicable to services
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
  • Ability to operate equipment such as cash registers, revenue control equipment
  • Knowledge of record-keeping procedures and practices
  • Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures
  • Written and communication skills, both in writing and verbally
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic understanding of a computer

Licensures, Certifications

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clarifies parking rates and valet procedures to patients and visitors
  • Daily collection and categorization of process parking ticket transactions
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by following standards and procedures
  • Report any accidents to manager on duty

  • Perform cashiering function as needed
  • Stock and maintain all revenue control equipment

  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 25 pounds
