Job description

PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER I

PART-TIME

SCHEDULE: FLEXIBLE

SALARY RANGE $24.00- $33.00

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Knowledge of public relations principles and techniques.
  1. Knowledge of basic legal concepts as they relate to the enforcement of parking regulations.
  1. Knowledge of authority rules, regulations and procedures.
  1. Ability to use mobile or handheld radio equipment and related communications equipment.
  1. Possession of a valid Florida State Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record for the past 5 years.
  1. Parking Enforcement Certification IS REQUIRED.
  1. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

DUTIES:


  1. Enforce City and County and State parking codes and non-moving codes by issuing citations.


  1. Makes arrangements for towing illegally parked vehicles.


  1. Seeks out cites and order for tow court ordered scofflaws vehicles.


  1. Assists stranded motorists and provide general assistance to the general public by giving direction and answer any question they should have.


  1. Direct traffic during emergency situation, or upon required.


  1. Report broken meters, missing signage any situations which may be dangerous, to the appropriate city department.


  1. Assist fire rescue or police upon request.


  1. Testifies in court when necessary.


  1. Responds to parking complaints calls from office, police or general public.


  1. Completes paperwork and prepares clerical reports Prepares reports and files citations.


  1. Operates and maintains assigned vehicle.


  1. Operates and maintains assigned vehicles and must follow all traffic and parking laws while operating a company vehicle.


  1. Follows all policy and procedures from the enforcement manual.


  1. Observe all standard operating procedures and safety practices.


  1. Operates handheld ticketing issuing computers and retrieves information from handheld computers regarding scofflaw vehicles and stolen vehicles.
