Job description

Our District has an exciting Before & After Care Program for children in kindergarten through 5th grade called "Beyond the Bell".  We are seeking Before- and After-School Counselors to oversee staff and activities for children ages 5-11. Selected individual will assist in planning and executing after-school activities while supervising kids.  Candidates will ensure the safety of the children and the smooth operation of program activities, such as arts & crafts, stories, indoor/outdoor play, homework, etc.  Selected individuals will be assigned to a specific district 64 school in Park Ridge. 

Qualifications: This position requires six months of experience working with children aged 5-11 and a basic level of proficiency in both written and verbal English communication. CPR/AED and First Aid Certified preferred. 

Education: High school diploma (or equivalent) or currently enrolled in a state-approved high school program
Availability: Position to start in early August and continue through the 2026-2027 school year. We are seeking applicants to work weekday mornings and afternoons.
Approximate available shifts are:

6:45 A.M. – 9:00 A.M. Monday through Friday
3:15 P.M. – 6:15 P.M. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
2:15 P.M. – 6:15 P.M. Wednesday
