Job description


The Starter-Ranger helps ensure the pace of play on the golf course by monitoring tee-off times, and directing the timing and flow on the course. The Starter-Ranger also helps ensure that the club's rules and regulations are followed and that players adhere to course etiquette.
Job Responsibilities
• Maintains control over golfers while they are on the course for the benefit of all who are playing. • Monitors tee times, help to ensure that each group has 4 members, when possible. Sends groups to their respective courses in proper order. Help monitor and maintain pace of play, avoid large gaps between groups. • Explain all distance markers and rules such as "cart paths only or 90-degree rule." Ask each group to please keep up with the group ahead. Keep groups starting on the #1 tee in a timely manner. Keep a record of starting times and cart numbers for each group. • Adheres to rules and regulations, as well as safety policies and procedures to ensure safety of guests.
• Responds to golfers' questions, requests, and concerns.
• Keeps the golf shop informed on pace of play on shotguns and split tee play.
• Responds immediately to radio calls.
• Help maintain collegiality between players on the course, and diplomatically address issues as they arise. Notify the golf shop when assistance with guest issues warrant.
• Repair golf marks and pick up trash on the course.
• Keep carts clean and perform minor repairs, when necessary, on carts and equipment. Operate carts in a safe and prudent manner. Park carts in appropriate spaces.
• Report any concerns to the golf shop, including borken equipment.
• Monitor weather on the course.
• Be polite, courtiest, and friendly to guests on property, always maintaining excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests and co-workers.

Qualifications
• Training in First Aid protocols such as Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness Advanced First Aid, Wilderness EMT or EMT/Paramedic preferred
• Multi-lingual skills a plus
• Must have extensive experience guiding in the same or related environment
• Sit, stand and walk for varied amounts of time
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be available to work flexible hours
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
