Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Embody the Spirit of GGP Parks: Conduct all activities with integrity, fully aligning with the mission and values of GGP Parks.
  • Engage with Guests and Team Members: Communicate with professionalism and enthusiasm, fostering positive connections with both team members and guests by following established protocols to assist in a variety of situations such as reuniting lost children.
  • Deliver Unforgettable Guest Experiences: Provide an exceptional level of satisfaction by embracing the park's culture, inspiring, educating, and exciting guests at every opportunity.
  • Event Setup & Execution: Play an essential role in event preparation, including loading and unloading equipment, setting up flags, props, signage, tables, chairs, tents, and more for Gathering Place events.
  • Event Breakdown & Cleanup: Take charge of post-event cleanup, ensuring all equipment and supplies are accounted for and returned to storage, leaving the park clean and ready for the next adventure.
  • Active Participation in Park Activities: Dive into physical tasks such as climbing park elements, operating boats, and assisting with loading and unloading park equipment, keeping energy high and engagement strong.
  • Crowd Control & Safety: Assist with crowds during events or emergencies, ensuring smooth operations and the safety of all guests.
  • Direct Traffic with Precision: Help support the parking lot flow by placing/removing cones and signage, directing guests to available spaces, and adapting to changes in traffic conditions with ease.
  • Opening & Closing Support: Play an integral role in park opening and closing, conducting thorough equipment inspections and following safety procedures to ensure a pristine, secure environment for guests.
  • Uphold Safety and Efficiency Standards: Consistently adhere to safety protocols and operational procedures, ensuring a smooth, enjoyable, and safe experience for all guests.
  • Create Positive Guest Interactions: Be friendly, courteous, and proactive in assisting guests, answering questions, and providing clear directions to park attractions and amenities.
  • Creating A Welcoming Environment: Engage with guests to ensure they understand and enjoy the park safely! Explain the park's rules, offering friendly reminders when needed, so guests feel informed, secure, and empowered to follow guidelines, while having a fun and safe experience.
  • Maintain Park Cleanliness: Keep Park attractions and play elements clean, performing tasks such as sweeping, blow packing, raking sand/engineered wood fiber, and organizing storage areas to keep the park in top condition.
  • Prioritize Safety: Practice safe working habits, including using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), proper lifting techniques, and promptly reporting safety concerns.
  • Look The Part: Maintain a professional appearance that reflects the standards of Gathering Place appearance guidelines.
  • Adaptability: Be ready to take on additional duties as needed, contributing to the overall success of the team and the park's mission.

Requirements

Strengths and Abilities:

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Ability to provide world class service to peers, leadership and guests.
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks.
  • Ability to follow department and company policies, procedures and safety guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to use equipment; see and read printed material, physical agility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds individually, and 100 pounds with assistance, to bend, to stoop, to walk and to reach overhead. Must be able to carry, place and climb ladders of varying heights.
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to-waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, stand, sit, lift and walk indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time, simple grasp and fine hand manipulations tasks.
  • Must have the ability to climb ladders and work around heights and maneuver through tight spaces associated with playground elements.
  • May shovel and remove snow and ice from designated areas such as sidewalks, parking lots, entryways as required.
  • Must be proficient in swimming and operating kayaks, and paddleboats.

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions varied from very hot to very cold based on the season. The noise level greatly varies based on attendance, programming, and location in the park.


Basic Qualifications:

  • The ability to communicate verbally with large groups.
  • The ability to work and interact positively with children and families.
  • The ability to successfully complete CPR training.
  • Ability to regularly work weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours as dictated by the needs of the park.
  • Ability to perform all cleaning duties

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Background in athletics or outdoor activities.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working with children and families in an environment that involved providing guided instruction.
