Summary:
REQUIRED AVAILABILITY
All candidates MUST be available to work between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM on park operating days. Additional daytime shifts may be available during non-operating days during the Spring and Fall seasons. This early morning schedule is essential to ensure the park is clean, safe, and guest-ready prior to opening.
Summary:
The Park Groundskeeper plays a critical role in maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, and appearance of Great Escape. This position combines traditional groundskeeping responsibilities with specialized washdown and blowdown operations to prepare park midways, landscaping, and public areas for daily guest operations. Groundskeepers help create a positive first impression by ensuring the park is spotless, well-maintained, and visually appealing each day.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Key Responsibilities:
    Washdown & Blowdown Operations:
    - Perform full washdown of park midways using fire hose equipment to remove dirt, spills, and debris
    - Conduct blowdown using leaf blowers to clear leaves, dust, and trash from pathways and landscaped areas
    - Operate pressure washers to deep clean high-traffic areas as needed
    - Maintain, keep inventory of and properly store all equipment
    Groundskeeping Duties:
    - Maintain cleanliness and appearance of all landscaping, including lawns, planting beds, and hardscapes
    - Remove litter and debris from park grounds, planters, and perimeter areas
    - Assist with basic landscape upkeep such as weeding, edging, and mulch maintenance as necessary
    - Monitor grounds conditions and report maintenance or safety issues (trip hazards, damaged surfaces, etc.)
    - Support seasonal grounds preparation and general park beautification efforts
    General Park Services Duties:
    - Clean and maintain trash receptacles and service areas
    - Assist with morning or non-operating day deep cleaning projects during work crew shifts
    - Ensure all assigned areas meet park cleanliness and safety standards before opening
    - Support additional operational or cleaning tasks as assigned
How You Will Do It

    - Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
    - Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, walking, and equipment operation

What You Will Need
  • Qualifications:
    - Must be at least 18 years old; valid NYS driver's license preferred
    -Basic working knowledge of small equipment maintenance and repair preferred
    - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor for the duration of shift
    - Ability to safely operate fire hoses, pressure washers, blowers, and other gas powered equipment
    - Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment
    - Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning shifts consistently
    - Flexible availability including weekends and holidays; minimum of four days per week during full-time operation.
