Job description

Overview
The Armed Security Guard personnel will be responsible for providing security services at a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers location.
Responsibilities
  • Communicate via radio, telephone, and verbally in accordance with established orders and communication protocols.
  • Interact with and escort public and government personnel as required, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Provide access control and traffic control, and conduct walking and motorized armed security patrols to ensure the safety and security of personnel and property.
  • Follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and government regulations related to the security of weapons, buildings, personnel, government property, and equipment.
  • Conduct personnel, vehicular, building, and facility inspections, including package and parcel screenings, in alignment with established security requirements.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet operational and mission needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of overall security operations.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Armed Security Guard certification through DCJS.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Certified in use of Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) Spray.
  • Certified in use of Batons.
  • Minimum of one year experience preferably with a civilian police force, military police force, or civilian security guard organization.
  • Possess a current CPR certification through the American Red Cross.
  • Successfully be able to meet PAT physical agility standards as set forth by customer.
    • 1.5 mile run in 17:30 minutes
    • 19 push-ups in 2 minutes
    • MMPI test
