How much do parcel packer jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 17, 2026, the average hourly pay for parcel packer in the United States is $16.11, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $14.42 and $17.31 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

For a parcel packer, earning $4,000 a week typically requires working in high-volume or specialized roles, such as warehouse supervisors or logistics managers, which often demand experience and skills rather than formal degrees. Most entry-level parcel packing jobs pay hourly wages that do not reach this level without additional responsibilities or overtime, so achieving such income usually involves advancing into supervisory or managerial positions or working for companies with high pay scales and incentives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Parcel Packer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Parcel Packer, you need attention to detail, basic math skills, physical stamina, and preferably a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanners, and packing machinery is typically required. Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team are valued soft skills. These abilities ensure accurate, efficient, and safe preparation of shipments, directly impacting customer satisfaction and operational productivity.

What are parcel packers?

Parcel packers are workers responsible for preparing products or goods for shipment by securely packing them into boxes or parcels. Their duties typically include selecting appropriate packaging materials, labeling parcels, checking for product accuracy, and ensuring items are protected during transit. Parcel packers play a crucial role in warehouse, fulfillment, and shipping operations by helping to minimize damage and ensure timely deliveries. Attention to detail and efficiency are important skills in this role.

How much do picker packers get paid?

Picker packers typically earn an hourly wage ranging from $12 to $20, depending on experience, location, and the employer. Overtime pay and bonuses may also be available for additional hours worked in warehouse environments that often require physical stamina and attention to detail.

What is the job description of a parcel packer?

A parcel packer is responsible for preparing items for shipment by packing goods securely in boxes or containers, labeling packages accurately, and ensuring they meet quality and safety standards. The role often involves operating packing tools, maintaining a clean work environment, and working efficiently to meet shipping deadlines.

What are some common challenges faced by parcel packers, and how can they be managed effectively?

Parcel packers often face challenges such as working under tight deadlines, handling repetitive tasks, and ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment. Adapting to varying package sizes and weights can also require attention to ergonomics and safety. Effective time management, attention to detail, and following best practices for safe lifting and packing can help manage these challenges. Most employers provide training on proper techniques and encourage teamwork to maintain a steady workflow and minimize errors.

What jobs make $1,000,000 a year?

While most parcel packer roles do not pay $1,000,000 annually, high-level executives in logistics companies or business owners in the shipping industry can reach this income level through ownership, investments, or executive compensation. Such earnings typically require extensive experience, leadership skills, and often involve managing large-scale operations or multiple revenue streams.
