Job description

We have an outstanding Contract position for a Delivery Coordinator to join a leading Company located in the Laurel, MD surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $20.00

**US Citizenship is required.**
 **Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.**

We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking, team individual to help us deliver material, equipment, documents and furniture throughout the campus. As a member of our team, you'll contribute to the company's success by ensuring incoming materials/equipment are received and delivered in a timely manner. We are passionate about customer service and with your help, we will remain a valued partner throughout the organization.

Job Responsibilities:  
  • Ensure incoming material and equipment are delivered to the appropriate individual/location in a timely manner. This material includes gas bottles, dewars, and other dangerous goods.
  • Ensure trucks are loaded and unloaded, which may involve operating a lift gate, forklift or pallet jack.
  • Use precautionary actions when delivering product to prevent damage. This will require driving vehicles.
  • Track deliverables using a parcel tracking system, run reports, and reconcile errors daily.
  • Provide support throughout the group as needed.

Basic Hiring Criteria:  
  • Have 1+ years of previous delivery experience to include but not limited to assisting with shipment operations, delivering, moving and organizing boxes, inventory coordination and customer order fulfillment.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires valid state-of-residence driver's license in good standing.
  • Able to obtain or possess and maintain a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Card.
  • This may require a medical physical exam prior to employment.
  • Possess basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and walk extensively indoors and out.
  • Can work independently and within a team environment.
  • Have strong interpersonal, time management and customer service skills.
  • Are able to obtain forklift certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Are able to load/unload packages using pallet jack, lift gate and forklift.
  • Can maintain good attendance and punctuality.
  • Are reliable, safety conscious and responsible.
  • Are able to obtain Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

Desired Qualifications: 
  • Have basic knowledge and familiarity with parcel tracking systems.
  • Possess a Dangerous Goods Certification.
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities.
