As a Hyperbaric Technician, your specialized skillset fills a growing, vital need in the treatment of complex patient wounds like ulcers, burns, pressure injuries, diabetic foot wounds and skin tears. associated systems and equipment. Monitoring patients in the hyperbaric chamber while undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy, you recognize and notify the clinical staff of patient problems that might arise during treatment andmaintainoperations of mono-place and multi-place chambers and all ancillary equipment that supports the Hyperbaric Department.

Your Everyday

Keep patients informed and give periodic updates asappropriate.

Promote, enforce, and support patient satisfaction, performance improvement, safety, compliance,accreditingand quality initiatives.

Assistwith the preventative maintenance schedule for the hyperbaric systems.

Maintain and ensureappropriate entrieson all required logs (operations,safetyand maintenance) and that all patient and billing information is entered,forwardedand/orrecordedas necessary.

Prepare the hyperbaric chamber equipment and materials for patients undergoing therapy.

Assistwithoperatingthe control panel during all dives and make recommendations to physicians as needed.

Work with the team to schedule patients andto accommodateconsultations and emergency treatments.

Under supervision, change all oxygen, air,nitrogenand 60/40 nitrox bank tanks as needed and dispose of empty tanks inan appropriate manner.

Process hyperbaric equipment for cleaning,sterilizingand packaging asrequired.

Respond to emergency callsin a timely mannerto ensure effective treatment of hyperbaric emergencies.

Assistinutilizationand maintenance of patient care equipment.

Maintain the department in a clean, neat, orderlycondition.

Monitor patients in the hyperbaric systems during the course of therapy and reports and records unusual patients' conditions occurrences.

Carry out treatment protocols accuratelyas prescribed bythe hyperbaric physician.

Report to the supervisor and/orphysicianany changes in the patient's condition.

Obtain consent and patient vital signs as needed and perform transcutaneous monitoring and point of care glucometer testing as needed.

Initiate interventions foremotionalneeds ofpatient/family and to evaluate progress, satisfaction, and expectations.


The Must-Haves
Minimum:

Any of the following: DMT, EMT, Paramedic, Respiratory Therapist, LPN, or RN

Driving Background (Drive School, Commercial, Military)

Certified Hyperbaric Technologist through the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology.

American Heart Association BLS certification.

Preferred:

2-3 years of experience clinical hyperbaric chamber operations
