Job description


Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN is looking for exceptional, patient focused Paramedic to join our Emergency Department team and make a difference for our patients and our community.
This position requires assessment, prioritization and coordination of patient needs upon their arrival to Regions Hospital Emergency Department (ED). The Paramedic must demonstrate ability and efficiency completing and documenting dependent functions in order to carry out specific physician and RN orders in the ED environment. Additionally, the Paramedic is to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for our patients and to perform related duties as assigned by RNs and Medical Providers in a collaborative manner with team members. Performs other duties as assigned.
Work schedule: 3 PM - 11:30 PM, flex, every other weekend.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED & Completion of Paramedic education program.
  • Licensed by the Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board (EMSRB) as a Paramedic.
  • Certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician as a Paramedic is preferred upon hire but required within 6 months of hire. (Department will track)
  • Demonstrates at the time of employment and every two years thereafter successful completion of American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Successful completion of American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is preferred on hire but required within 6 months of hire and every two years thereafter.

Our Emergency Department (ED) is comprised of 50,000 square feet of clinical space with 55 treatment rooms. An additional 8,000 square feet houses the resident room, library, conference space and administrative offices. It also includes private rooms, in-department radiology suite, discharge pharmacy, waiting room and triage area, employee lounge and locker room, and five care areas (pods), including an 11-bed care pod for our crisis/behavioral health patients. It is designed to treat patients in acuity-based care pods. You will find yourself in a fast-paced environment with over 90,000 ED visits per year. Join our team and make good happen!
