Job description

Our client is seeking a Paralegal to join their growing law firm. This position works closely with attorneys and clients to prepare and file legal documents, organize case materials, manage deadlines, and help keep matters moving forward efficiently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates effectively with a wide range of individuals, exercises sound judgment, and remains composed when handling sensitive and confidential matters involving both individuals and business owners. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team and play a key role in supporting the firm's clients and attorneys throughout the legal process.


Responsibilities:

• Prepare bankruptcy case documents in BestCase, including petitions, schedules, and statements required for court filings.

• Gather financial records and supporting materials from clients, following up as needed to maintain complete and accurate case files.

• Draft legal correspondence and court-related documents such as motions, applications, and reports under attorney guidance.

• Perform public records research through organizational databases, Secretary of State resources, and county recorder offices.

• Review and summarize information tied to assets, liens, and secured interests to support legal strategy and case preparation.

• Track deadlines, filing activity, and case status to help attorneys move matters forward efficiently.

• Maintain organized electronic and physical documentation using case management tools and standard office software.

• Deliver compassionate service to clients navigating challenging legal and financial circumstances.

• Paralegal degree, certificate, or comparable formal training in legal studies.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a paralegal or legal support role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and attorneys.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
• Experience working with Adobe Acrobat and legal document preparation tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to balance multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Prior law firm, bankruptcy, or insolvency experience is preferred; strong, trainable candidates with professionalism and accountability will also be considered.
