Paralegals are an essential part of the legal team, enabling attorneys to work more efficiently and effectively. Their specific duties can vary depending on their employer and area of law.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a paralegal, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Paralegal, you need a solid understanding of legal research, document preparation, and case management, typically supported by an associate’s degree or paralegal certification. Paralegals often juggle multiple cases at once, which can present challenges such as prioritizing urgent deadlines, handling large volumes of documents, and coordinating with attorneys and clients.
